The Confluence Center (Western Montana's Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we proudly present a new art exhibit by Alyssa English, AND our first night celebrating Dìa de los Muertos!
Alyssa English, a multidisciplinary artist, is interested in expressing the human experience and exploring what it means to be a human being. In her new show Homecoming, her paintings are inspired by the essence of our souls, how our experiences shape us, our connection with the natural world around us, the intimacy in our relationships, grief, love, tension, and human connection.
Indoors will also feature live music by Salsa Loca, aguas frescas by Refreshments by Maria, free snacks, plus an educational installation about Dìa de los Muertos. Then out back, you can visit our 2nd Annual Traditional Dìa de los Muertos ofrenda (altar). Bring pictures and/or memorabilia of your lost loved ones and join us in honoring those who have passed. Also bring cash so you can enjoy traditional Mexican and Colombian food (by Deli Arepa & La Catrina Marigold), as well as a festive bar by The Rhino.
*For ofrenda memorabilia, please label your items on the bottom with your name and contact info; items need to be 5”x7” or smaller.
The opening will take place First Friday, November 1st at the Confluence Center at 119 W Main St, Missoula, MT, and runs 5-9pm. The exhibit will remain on display through November 29th, and can be seen by appointment through the Center: 406-926-6526
