The Whitefish Marathon has become one of the largest running events in the Flathead Valley. Tripling in size since 2019, the event offers a marathon, half marathon and 5K. Start and finish is in Depot Park. All runners and walkers receive and an event shirt and finisher's medal. Stick around Whitefish for FishFest immediately following. The event is owned by the Wave Fitness Center and benefits the Wave's Scholarship Fund.

The Bigfork Whitewater Festival will be celebrating its 50th year! We welcome you to join us for this historic, local event as either a competitor or spectator this Memorial Day Weekend in Downtown Bigfork. Bigfork, Montana is located on the north end of Flathead Lake, where the Swan River spills into Bigfork Bay. The last mile of the Swan River, known as the "Wild Mile", is a class IV section of whitewater. This beautiful and challenging whitewater venue has a scenic nature trail paralleling the north side, giving spectators front row seats for some of the best whitewater action in the area. The Wild Mile also flows through downtown Bigfork, which offers an eclectic variety of restaurants, shops and galleries.

EARLY SEASON (May 23 - June 6, 2025) Pearson to Roland Shuttle start loading at 11 am (PST). with last shuttle loading at 4:15 pm. (PST). THE "CROWN JEWEL" OF RAIL-TO-TRAIL ADVENTURES The Route of the Hiawatha - Scenic mountain bike or hike trail is 15 miles long with 10 large and dark train tunnels (Nine that you ride your bike thru.) and 7 sky-high trestles. The ride starts with a trip through the 1.661 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel, also known as the Taft Tunnel. It is a highlight of the trail that follows the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains near Lookout Pass Ski Area. The best part is.... it's mostly downhill with shuttle buses available to transport you and your bike back to the top. This family friendly trail is easily enjoyed by a wide variety of people from young children to super seniors. Trail passes, shuttle tickets and mountain bike rentals with lights are available at Lookout Pass Ski Area located right alongside Interstate 90, take , at the Idaho-Montana state line.
