Surveyor Lake Trail

NATIONAL FOREST TRAIL | Huson

Surveyor Lake Trail (117) is a short hike from a forest road to a small alpine lake on the north side of the Idaho/Montana State Line Divide. To access Surveyor Lake Trail take Schley Mountain Road 7734 about 10 miles, (which is down the South Fork of Fish Creek) and look for trail on uphill side of road opposite a small turnout.

  • About 10 miles up the Fish Creek Road from I-90 look for the Thompson Creek Road turnoff on your right. Follow the signs to Surveyor Lake and you will need the Ninemile Ranger District Map.
