Little Hellgate Gulch Trail

NATIONAL FOREST TRAIL | Townsend

Little Hellgate Gulch Trail is a ridge trail, mainly used for hunting. The trail passes through private land within the forest boundary and the government does not have a right-of-way. The trail offers both hiking and camping opportunities.   • Take Highway 12 east from Townsend for 2 miles, turn north on Highway 284 (Canyon Ferry Road) and follow it for approximately 28 miles to the Magpie Road 425. Continue up this road for approximately 5 miles to the mouth of Hunters Gulch and the trailhead for Trail 238. Follow this trail for 1.5 miles to Trail 240.1
