Horsehead Trail (51) is a short trail from the end of a Forest Road that gives access to the Ninemile Divide Trail as well as the view of the valley from Horsehead Peak.

Length: 16.3 miles

Trail Begins: Forest Road 7892

Trail Ends: Mountain Creek Road north of I-90

  • Take the Ninemile Exit west of Missoula on I-90. Go uphill. On the other side of the hill is the Remount Road on the right before the restaurant. On the other side is the main Ninemile Road. Either of these lead to Road 7892. See Ninemile Ranger District Map.
