FESTIVAL/DAYS | Red Lodge

A themed, annual event on spring snow, the winter carnival is Red Lodge Mountain's best and biggest party of the season. The extravaganza is complete with costumes, popular cardboard classic race, which deliver lots of cheers, jeers and crowd pleasing carnage.

  • Winter Carnival takes place in the City of Red Lodge and at Red Lodge Mountain Resort. Red Lodge is located on Highway 212, just 60 miles south of Billings. From Billings, take I-90 west 13 miles to Laurel. Take the Highway 212 exit and head south 45 miles to Red Lodge. Red Lodge Mountain is six miles southwest of Red Lodge. On the south end of town, turn on West Fork Road and travel the six miles to Red Lodge Mountain.
