Cost $30.00. Four person capacity; West Fork Butte Cabin Rental is ideal for four people. It is a 14 by 14 building out on a rocky knob over looking the mountains south of Missoula. As you look to the north and to the south you will see the back of Lolo Peak. The cabin has a propane cooking stove, a wood stove , 4 metal bunks and a gas lantern. Water must be hauled to the cabin if there is no snow to melt.

  • Take Highway 93 south of Missoula to Lolo. On the south side of Lolo is the junction with Highway 12. You can only go west. About 17 mi up Lolo Creek you will see a small brown sign for the Earl Tenant Campground and West Fork Butte Rd #37. Take that road across the creek and turn right. Winter Directions for Skies and Snowmobilers: This route follows the West Fork Butte Rd #37 for 6.9 mi to the second four-way road junction. Take a sharp turn to the north (left). A sign on this road says 'West Fork Butte L.O. 1/2 mile. Follow this road to the Lookout. Access is marked with orange diamonds and arrow up to and past this junction. The spur road to the lookout is not marked except by the traditional lettered sign.1
