State Line Trail (46) follows the Idaho/Montana border along the Bitterroot Divide. It features immense views of both states. There is no drinking water available along the trail, so please remember to bring your own water. Trail not maintained in the winter.

  • Take Highway 12 south out of Lolo, proceed towards Lolo Pass, turn right off Highway 12 an 1/8 mile short of Lolo Pass on Road 595. Stay on Road 595 to Granite Pass. Road 17173 leaves from this junction at Granite Pass. Follow Road 17173 approximately 1.5 miles. The single track trail leaves from this point at the end of the road.Take Highway 12 south out of Lolo, proceed towards Lolo Pass, turn right off Highway 12 an 1/8 mile short of Lolo Pass on Road 595. Stay on Road 595 to Granite Pass. Road 17173 leaves from this junction at Granite Pass. Follow Road 17173 approximately 1.5 miles. The single track trail leaves from this point at the end of the road.
