Silver Butte Creek Trail #296 is suitable for rugged day hikes and short or extended backpacking trips. Trail #296 passes a shallow, unnamed lake 3 miles from the trailhead. At the junction with Cabinet Divide Trail 360, vistas may be seen of the Silver Butte, Vermilion River, and Noxon Reservoir areas. There is adequate parking at the trailhead for 3 vehicles. No restrooms or stock facilities are available.
