The primary use on Packer Creek Trail (266) is hunting. There's an outfitter camp about 3 miles in. It's not advisable to drink the water in the area of Tar Box Mine until rehabilitation if finished, due to tailing contamination. The trail crosses four creeks which dry up in the summer. Bring Water. This is an access to the CC Divide Trail also.   • Take the Haugan Exit on I-90. Take the East Fork of Packer Creek Road for 2 miles to the junction with Tar Box Mine Road. Turn north and travel 1.3 miles to the end of the road at the mine elevator. Park in the parking area and wade across the creek to the trailhead.1
