Little Spar Lake Trail

NATIONAL FOREST TRAIL | Troy

Just beyond Spar Creek the cliffs and pinnacles of Spar Peak are visible from Little Spar Lake Trail (143), which remains on a sidehill most of the way. It follows the creek up a steep narrow valley with avalanche chutes and steep rock walls where mountain goats may occasionally be viewed. Due to heavy snows and high water flows in the creek, this trail is only open for a short period of time in the summer months. As this lake is showing signs of impacts from campers, please use low impact camping away from the lake. Length: 3.0 miles Trail Begins: Road 384 Trail Ends: Little Spar Lake Area Map: Kootenai National Forest Visitors Map USGS Map1: Sawtooth Mountain USGS Map2: Scotchman Peak Township 29N; Range 34W; Section 29
