NATIONAL FOREST TRAIL | Hungry Horse

Doris Creek Trail joins the Alpine Trail 7 on the east side of Blaine Mountain near Jenny Lake. About 3 miles, from here are options. To reach Jenny Lake travel .25 mile south along the Alpine Trail 7, continuing south go all the way to the Jewel Basin Hiking Area. Going north you could access the Doris Lakes Basin or continue north to the Northern Trailhead of Alpine 7.

Length: 2.5 miles. Moderate difficulty.

  • Access from the town of Hungry Horse, drive south on the west side Reservoir Road 895 for approximately 10 miles, turn west on Doris Creek Road 895A, stay to the right on the main road to the intersection with Road 1602 and then turn right. The road is burmed and is now the first two miles of the trail.1
