Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse

CULTURAL CENTER | Butte

Built in 1911, the rotunda walls are adorned with golden mosaic murals of personified muses; Justice, Geography, History, Philosophy and murals of Presidents Lincoln, McKinley, Washington, and Wilson. Large pillars of Montana-quarried Travertine draw the eye upward toward the mosaics and stained-glass dome. The impressive 1,500-pound, 28’ in diameter, stained glass dome atop the rotunda was renovated in 2015.
