Bridger Raptor Festival

EVENT, FESTIVAL/DAYS | Bozeman

The Bridger Raptor Festival is an annual event held in and around Bozeman Montana. The festival, which is free to the public, centers around an annual count each Fall of the largest known golden eagle migration in the United States. The Bridger Raptor Festival takes place at the Bridger Bowl ski area in the Gallatin National Forest just north of Bozeman. Activities include a Wildlife Film Festival, interpretive programs with live raptors, nature walks and talks, face painting, storytelling, education and entertainment programs for people of all ages.

Children's events, bird hike opportunities and more occur before and after the event.

In partnership with Gallatin National Forest and Bridger Bowl Ski Area, Hawkwatch International established one of 16 Rocky Mountain raptor monitoring sites on the Bridger Bowl helicopter platform in 1991. At that time more golden eagles had been documented at this site then any other in the country. Since monitoring migratory activity, 16 other species of raptors have been counted regularly using the Bridger Bowl Range as a migratory flyway through the Rocky Mountains each fall

Be prepared for all weather conditions. If hiking, proper hiking gear, food, and water should be taken for each individual. Bring your binoculars and cameras!
