Some sections of Big Sky Snowmobile Trail are for experienced riders only. Portions of trail at lower elevations generally follow logging roads and are well marked. Upper portions are more difficult to follow; intermittently marked open country. Trail can be broken down into sections. Little Bear to Storm Castle is 24 km. Storm Castle to Moose Creek is 24 km. Moose Creek to Porcupine Divide is 17.7 km. Porcupine Divide to Buffalo Horn 19.3 km. Buffalo Horn to Fir Ridge is 56.3 km. Length: 198 km. Portions of trail groomed.
