Tobacco Plains is a day use site is located adjacent to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa. It is nestled in a forest environment and popular with the locals for picnicking. Boat ramp for small boats, fishing access in adjacent Tobacco inlet, picnicking. Open year-round; managed season May 15 through October 15.

  • From Eureka, turn south on US Highway 37 and travel for approximately 2.5 miles to the Sophie Lake/Tetrault Lake road. Turn north onto this road and follow for 4.5 miles, turning west at the junction with Swisher Lake road. Travel this road for 1 mile to the site.1
