Happy Birthday Libby Dam!

50th Anniversary of the Dedication of Libby Dam will be held on Saturday, Aug 23rd from 10am to 1pm at the Libby Dam Visitor Center.

Libby Dam Visitor Center is open June, July, and August of 2025: 9:30am to 6:00pm, 7 days a week. Open by appointment the rest of the year. Tours are available daily June, July and August of 2025 at 10am and 4pm Monday through Saturday. Tours of the Powerhouse are available on Sundays in June July and August of 2025 at 10am, Noon, 2pm, and 4pm dependent upon staff availability and construction activity. Photo ID is required for all persons over 18 yrs of age, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Max tour size is 20 persons, first come first serve. Please plan to arrive 15 min before tour start at the Visitor Center to sign in. Please call 406-293-5577 for more information.

The Souse Gulch day use area near the visitor center offers playgrounds, picnic shelters, and boat ramp access to lake Koocanusa. Enjoy a picnic with a view of Lake Koocanusa, or hike the trails and take in the views from the challenging 18 hole Kooky-Noosa disc golf course. Campgrounds nearby include Dunn Creek flats, Blackwell Flats, and many Forest Service campgrounds as well.
