Kootenai River Campground
Escape to the heart of Northwest Montana’s wilderness at Kootenai River Campground in Troy. Whether you’re seeking a cozy retreat or a traditional starlit experience, we offer a variety of ways to stay, including charming camping cottages, lush grassy tent sites, and spacious, shady pull-through RV sites (up to 50-amp). Our cottages are perfect for every traveler, with a large family unit sleeping up to six and smaller cabins for couples—all equipped with refrigerators, heat, and fans for your comfort.
While our sites are tucked into a peaceful, wooded setting, the water is never far away. Guests enjoy exclusive access to our private trail that leads directly to the banks of the Kootenai River, a fisherman’s paradise home to Rainbow, Cutthroat, and Bull Trout. After a day of exploring, stop by our well-stocked camp store for "Made in Montana" gifts, essential groceries, and an excellent variety of beer and wine. For your convenience, we also provide a public RV dump station and a full-service propane filling station on-site.
We are the perfect base camp for your Cabinet Mountains adventure. Within a short drive, you can marvel at Kootenai Falls, walk among giants at Ross Creek Cedars, or explore miles of pristine trails in the Kootenai National Forest. Managed with a personal touch by Chris and Marcey, we provide a clean, friendly, and pet-friendly environment. Whether you're passing through to Glacier or Yellowstone or making us your destination, we look forward to your visit!
