The Darby Ranger District administers the part of the Bitterroot National Forest from Darby to Hamilton. Firewood permits, Christmas tree permits (in season), and maps are available for sale at this office when the Historical Visitors Center is not open. The many miles of trails on the Darby Ranger District provide opportunities ranging from short day-trips to extended back-country trips.
