Challenge Cabin

NATIONAL FOREST CABIN | Hungry Horse

Challenge has rustic accommodations including propane cook stove, lights, small refrigerator, wood stove, firewood and vault toilet. Renters should pack their own drinking water and bedding. The cabin accommodates 5 with a bunk bed and a small loft. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Challenge. Commercial use of the cabins is prohibited (outfitter guides, groups or organizations with compensated leaders/chaperones). Rental fee is $30 per night. Call Hungry Horse/Glacier View Ranger District within seven days of your reservation to get the cabin combination.

Challenge cabin is available during the winter December 1st to March 31st and is located 51 miles east of Hungry Horse on US Highway 2, then eight miles south on Skyland Road #569. Access involves an 8 mile hike, snowshoe, or snowmobile to the cabin.

Bring your own water as the creek nearby freezes over.
