New Visitor Center In the Works: Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument

The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, located in Southeast Montana, is an important historic site dedicated to preserving the history of the Battle of Little Bighorn.

The National Park Service manages the site and helps visitors learn about the complex history of the battle, why it was fought and who was involved.

A new visitor center is currently being constructed, in coordination with the park's associated tribes and stakeholders, that will improve interpretive exhibits and better tell the stories of the surrounding landscape, site and people. The new center is expected to open by fall 2026.

Starting April 28, the park will be closed Monday through Thursday and open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Learn more about areas of the park impacted by construction
