O'Fallon Historical Museum

MUSEUM, REGISTERED HISTORIC SITE, GIFT SHOP | Baker

The O’Fallon Historical Museum is dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of the history, culture, and stories of Fallon County and Southeast Montana.

Our exhibits cover the entire history of Fallon County, from the homesteading era all the way back when dinosaurs roamed and up to today.

Our museum is housed in six buildings, including an original 1916 one room schoolhouse and an original 1907 homestead. The anchor building is the original Fallon County Jail that was built in 1916 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Not to be missed is Fallon County’s own Steer Montana – the world’s largest steer at 3,980 pounds – who traveled to and amazed crowds in 42 states back in the Depression era, is a featured attraction.

The Museum also includes a gift shop with local products and snacks, as well as maps, brochures and visitor guides for travelers.

Off-hours tours, research, school programming and event hosting are available by calling 406-778-3265.

Admission is FREE – we look forward to hosting you!
