Mortimer Gulch Trail (252) leads to Mortimer Gulch, which is approximately 7 miles and is predominantly open with scattered forest stands of aspen, douglas-fir and lodgepole pine. Large aspen groves dominate the lower reaches of the gulch. The trail is moderately steep most of the way. The trail offer an excellent view south of Sawtooth Ridge, Norwegian and French Gulch and Gibson Reservoir. Obtain a Forest Visitor's map to determine any travel restrictions.

  • Follow the Sun Canyon Road 208 27 miles northwest from Augusta turning east into the Mortimer Trailhead parking area. The trailhead begins on the west side of the road.1
