Since 1995, Billings Has Been the Unofficial Day 11 of the NFR – and You’re Invited to the Ride. When the dust settles in Vegas, the action doesn’t stop—it just heads north. The weekend after the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Roughstock riders come to Billings for one last adrenaline rush before the holidays. For some, it’s a chance to climb aboard the elite stock fresh off the bright lights of Vegas. For others, it’s another ride on the rank animals that have brought them both glory and grit. Every year, four of the top stock contractors bring their absolute best to this arena, and the top PRCA competitors—some of the same names you just saw in the NFR standings—show up ready to battle it out one more time. This isn’t just another rodeo. This is where legends come to leave it all in the dirt. Friday Night: The Dinner Banquet kicks things off. Contestants and personnel gather to relax, laugh, and swap stories before heading home for the holidays. It’s also a chance for fans and sponsors—the heart of this event—to meet the cowboys, snap some photos, and share in the moment. Saturday Morning: We start the day with the Stock Draw and Cowboy Breakfast, proudly sponsored by Rocky Mountain Air and Albertsons. After a hearty breakfast, the contestants get to draw their own animals, setting the stage for the thrilling matchups to come later that night. It’s a tradition that kicks off the day with excitement, anticipation, and plenty of cowboy camaraderie. Saturday Night: The evening kicks off with a warm welcome for our incredible sponsors in the Hospitality Room, generously hosted by High Horse Saloon & Restaurant, EEC Construction, and Stockman Bank. It’s a great chance to connect, relax, and gear up for the main event. Then at 7 PM sharp, the lights go down, the energy surges, and the arena comes alive. Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics team up to produce an unforgettable opening that sets the tone for the night. Will Rasmussen steps up to the mic to share our story—full of grit, tradition, and heart—in a way that brings emotion to every corner of the crowd. The national anthem rings out with power and pride… And moments later, the first chute bursts open and a cowboy thunders into the arena, chasing the buckle, the adrenaline, and the roar of the crowd. This year’s event will be more than just a weekend of competition; it will also mark the final year Helena hosts the tournament before it moves to Butte for the next three years

Each Prairie Sisters Vintage Market is thoughtfully filled with vendors from around the state of Montana and the surrounding areas who have been hand-picked by The Prairie Sisters team. Winifred Horan (Solas, Reverie Road) and Katie Grennan (Gaelic Storm, Reverie Road) will guide participants through a hands-on exploration of style, ornamentation, and phrasing that defines Irish fiddling. This workshop is designed for players with prior experience who are eager to deepen their technique and expand their repertoire. Together, Horan and Grennan will share tips on bowing patterns, variation, and ensemble playing, drawing from their international touring careers and unique artistic perspectives. Participants will leave with new tunes, new tools, and a richer connection to the tradition.

Led by five-time All-Ireland champion and Solas co-founder John Williams, this workshop dives into the soulful voice of the Irish flute. Students will learn to refine tone production, breathing techniques, and ornamentation while exploring carefully chosen tunes that highlight phrasing and lift. Williams brings a wealth of insight into both traditional and contemporary Irish music, blending technical mastery with a storyteller’s sensibility. This session is geared toward players who already have basic fluency on the instrument and want to push their playing to a higher, more expressive level.

For November, the spotlight shifts to Dan Mitchem—actor, pirate, magician, and all-around entertainer. With a flair for the theatrical and a background that spans everything from Beetlejuice impersonations to brand ambassadorship, Dan brings a unique spark to the stage. Trained at Montana Technological University and L.A.C.C., he knows how to command a room and keep the night flowing. This month, he’ll take the mic as host, weaving energy, humor, and charisma between each performance. Here’s how it works: Sign up at the door for your chance at the mic.
