The MonDak Heritage Center has two galleries used for local and traveling art shows, juried shows, and exhibits. Shows and exhibits change every four to six weeks.
We have a sales shop featuring items from local craftsmen, artists, and writers as well as a good selection of 'Made in Montana' products. The lower level of the museum is designed to let you take a stroll down a 'frontier town' Main street. As you walk on the wooden sidewalks you visit many old time stores and offices - a doctor, a dentist, the sheriff, the railroad station and many others. It's like taking a step back in time.
Some events: The Annual Quilt Show is in January and February. This is a wonderful show featuring quilts, and wall hangings using a variety of textiles and techniques. The main floor galleries are alive with bright colors and unique designs. May is host to the Youth Art Show which features artwork from students from the surrounding schools. This is a wonderful event that showcases the artistic talents of 7th - 12th graders. Students submit watercolor, pencil sketch, pastels, acrylic, oil and sculpture. This is a sponsored art show with cash prizes for the Peoples Choice.
Celebrating Chocolate is another annual event which is held in February. A fun filled evening with chocolate treats, silent auction, wine and beer tasting not to mention fresh cold milk. All attendees leave with a great appreciation for the generous amount of chocolate made by local caterers.
All of these events are held at the MonDak Heritage Center.
Our facility has a local history library and genealogy research.
