Grouse Mountain Lodge

about

  • Glacier
  • Hotel/motel
Summer in northwest Montana offers unbelievable opportunities for hiking, biking, and sightseeing in Glacier National Park, golfing on any of 9 championship golf courses in the area, or a variety of water activities ranging from whitewater rafting to fishing, boating, sailing, swimming, or jet skiing in one of our clear blue freshwater lakes. If you just feel like hanging around the Lodge, you can indulge yourself with an in-room massage, a swim in our indoor pool, or a glass of wine while kicking back in one of our outdoor Jacuzzis. If you just need some down time, curl up with a good book in our comfortable, well-appointed lobby while your family plays tennis, volleyball, or horseshoes using the complimentary equipment from our concierge. They might also enjoy taking a chair lift ride to the top of Whitefish Mountain Resort. The valley-wide views are spectacular, and picking huckleberries can be an unforgettable experience!

Your best choice for lodging in Whitefish is Grouse Mountain Lodge. We're a four season destination resort near Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Resort, Whitefish Lake, and Flathead Lake (the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi). You'll be staying in the heart of Whitefish, Montana's playground and recreational capital. The Lodge proudly sits on the 18th fairway of the South Course of Whitefish Lake Golf Course, the state's first 36-hole golf course.

Winter in Whitefish is equally wonderful. Skiing and snowboarding on Whitefish Mountain Resort are incomparable. With 85 impeccably groomed runs on 3,000 acres and a 2,500-foot vertical drop, Whitefish Mountain Resort offers 25 per cent beginner, 50 per cent intermediate, and 25 per cent advanced skiing. With a 13,800-lift capacity per hour, thanks to two high-speed quads and five triple chairs, you'll hardly have time to catch your breath in the lift lines! Grouse Mountain Lodge provides free shuttle service to the mountain, just 8 miles away, at scheduled times throughout the day.

Cross-country skiers will also be delighted with the 15 kilometers of groomed trail just out our back door. The course is double tracked, groomed and lighted for night skiing. Whitefish Mountain Resort also offers an additional 16 kilometers for cross-country enthusiasts. Rental equipment is available.

The spacious guest rooms and two-level family lofts are roomy enough for families to spread out and be comfortable. The most recent renovation of our 143 guest rooms was completed in the summer of 2011/2012 and included all new bedding, new wall decor, and western-themed lampshades.

Billed as the 'Best Conference Site in the West,' the convention and banquet facilities can accommodate groups both large and small. Our experienced convention services managers make events come together for you with ease and efficiency. We want you to enjoy Montana and all that it has to offer - not spend your time worrying about your meeting.

Grouse Mountain Lodge has a premier activity planning desk and can help you plan all your vacation recreation needs. We can assist and help you experience everything from championship golf, fly fishing and river rafting to cross-country skiing and dog sledding - just to name a few.
