Walk in the Treetops is an exciting way to experience adventure, fun, and learning in the Rocky Mountains. The adventure is a two and a half hour guided tour that offers a unique view of the forest from an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy. It's one of the only walk of its kind in the United States! Reservations are very highly recommended as these popular summer tours sell out quickly!
The adventure includes:
*A half-mile hike through beautiful sub-alpine forest led by expert forest interpreters.
*The highlight, a journey on a canopy boardwalk suspended up to 70 feet above the forest floor with spectacular views.
*A safety harness and ropes are used to keep you safe.
*A snack, water, and a fanny pack is provided.
Walk in the Tree Tops begins with a one-mile shuttle to a clearing amid a large stand of trees. A safety orientation is given before the tour continues with a 1/2-mile hike to the start of the boardwalk. Guests wear climbing harnesses and are connected with belay lines to safety cables suspended above the boardwalk where you can view the forest from above.
The tour takes guests along a canopy boardwalk suspended up to 70 feet above the forest floor through a canopy of trees including Douglas fir, grand fir, pine, larch and spruce. The age of the trees is generally between 50 and 200 years old, with a few that are more than 200 years old. Guests will enjoy spectacular vistas of the Flathead Valley and may encounter wildlife varying from birds and their nests to some of the larger creatures of the woods.
Walk in the Treetops is available to guests 10 years and older with a minimum height of 54 inches tall. Tours are $51 per person and offered daily June 18 - September 4 at 10:00am and 1:30pm. Additional tours at 5:00pm Wednesday through Sunday, July 2 through September 4. After Labor Day tours run Friday, Saturday and Sunday Through September.
