Butte Phantom Gallery Art Walk
|
All dates are the first Friday of each month. The Butte Phantom Gallery Art Walks were started by artists Ray Campeau and Philip Kunz as a way to stimulate economic development in Uptown Butte, Montana. Abandoned or otherwise unused buildings in historic Butte are turned into 'Phantom' galleries for one night a month during the summer. Local businesses also participate and host artists throughout the month, having a special reception on the night of the Art Walk. Artists from around Montana and the US participate in the FREE event for all participants and patrons. The gallery spaces are provided courtesy the building owners in a cooperative venture celebrating the arts in Butte. This year there are many buildings that have been used previous years that now have businesses in them which is a great sign! Each Art Walk, there is a featured artist that has a special reception at US Bank, special performances by the Sisters of Hidden Fire belly dancers and local musicians and an artist after-party hosted at various locations Uptown. There is usually music, food and drinks so all the artists can get together and chat it up. They are special events that everyone can enjoy and are a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of artists. There are those that participate that are seasoned professional artists and those that are just starting out and displaying for the first time. There is a great mix of artistic presence at every Art Walk and a great time to be had by all! Please check our website for dates and locations.
