The 2009 Western Sustainable Living Expo, sponsored by the non-profit Western Sustainability Exchange, features goods and services that promote sustainable choices. Celebrate sustainable living in our communities - for people, for businesses and for the environment. Enjoy more than 100 exhibits, showcasing everything from sustainable land management to green building design, renewable energy, green home care products to landscape plants and services. Special events include a green transportation show, hands on kids' activities, sustainable food and lots of learning opportunities. Cost: $5 for individuals and $10 for families (covers both days) Hours: 10am - 5:00pm on Saturday and 10am - 4pm on Sunday Sustainability Interview Series - January through April A series of interviews addressing sustainability topics and promoting the upcoming Expo, to be featured on Yellowstone Public Radio. Sustainability Dollars and Sense Panel Discussion - 7:00-8:30pm, April 30th, at Petro Hall at MSU-Billings. A panel comprised of renowned "green" business leaders will highlight the economic benefits of sustainable practices. Waste Not Montana Conference - May 1st and 2nd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Bi-annual conference comprised of solid waste managers, state and federal agencies, and individuals, with a focus on topics such as solid waste disposal, composting, and recycling. Educational Seminars, Workshops, and Tours - May 1st and 2nd Seminars, training, and tours designed to illustrate sustainable concepts and practices. Topics will include sustainable practices; building design, renewable energy, sustainable land stewardship, and more... Green Jobs for the New Economy - 7:00-8:30pm, May 1st, at the Billings Depot. Industry leaders will outline ideas for green jobs in a panel discussion. Expo Trade Fair - May 2nd and 3rd at the Montana Pavilion, MetraPark. A wide variety of exhibitors will showcase sustainable products and services including: hybrid vehicles, including the next generation Toyota Prius, socially responsible investing, recycling, sustainable architecture, home and health care products, green building design and products, sustainable land management, ZooMontana interactive displays, Billings YMCA play and learn area, green real estate firms, computer and office equipment firms, renewable energy companies, and delicious, sustainably produced food.
