Select from the options below to learn more about the Boyd area...

Boyd, near Roberts, was named for John Boyd, a homesteader on Rock Creek. It became a rural independent station in 1965. This is an irrigated area with crops watered by melting snow from the Beartooth Mountains. Most of the farmers are of Finnish stock. Many homes from log house steam baths similar to the ones they have in Finland. Steam is created by throwing water on heated rocks. Boyd serves as a trading center for farmers in the wide countryside up to Shane Ridge. Livestock, grain, and sugar beets are shipped from the Northern Pacific depot.
